Until recently, European employment relations were merely shaped by horizontal EU market integration through the free movement of goods, capital, services and people. After 2011, the latter has been complemented by vertical EU integration through the direct surveillance of EU member states. The resulting new EU governance regime opens contradictory possibilities for social dialogue in Europe.
"This Jean Monnet Chair action focuses on European integration studies and employment relations, namely the way in which social partners are responding to the EU's new economic governance regime." Roland Erne
